The Most Exciting Race I Ever Attended In Person

NASCAR races are exciting. Maybe it is the anticipation surrounding the unknown outcome. Perhaps it is the speed of the cars, the ever looming big crash that will likely shake up the field for the duration of the race, or the energy of the crowd. The most exciting race that I ever attended in person was in none other than Talladega, Alabama. Talladega is known for being one of the biggest party spots on the NASCAR circuit, and it did not disappoint.

The people watching before the race was fabulous.Check out this link here. Everyone was dressed up in all their NASCAR regalia and carrying their matching coolers. People were fired up in the parking lot, and drinking beer starting as early as 9 am. It was unlike anything I had ever seen.

The race was fabulous. There were plenty of small crashes, but the one that made the race so exciting was with about 5 laps left. Ryan Newman caused a relative “big one” around turn 3 to knock several other cars out of the race, along with his own. The anticipation of the “big one” made the crowd excited, and once it finally happened, everyone was even more fired up, and angry with Ryan Newman.

All in all, the race was a fun-filled and perfect way to spend a Saturday afternoon in the fall in the south.
